Description: The tour starts from your hotel. After approximately 3-4 hours transfer you will reach the city of Kavala. A tour around the Old City (Panagia) – the most important sights in Panagia district are the Castle, the Acropolis, the Imaret and the old Lighthouse at the end of Theodorou Pavlidou str, beneath which the rocks of Panagia are situated. The landmark of the Old City is the Mohamed Ali square, dominated by its statue – the founder of the last dynasty of Egyptian sultans…, situated between the “konaki” (his house built at the end of the 18th century) and the church of Panayia, built in 1965 on the ruins of an older post-Byzantine three-aisled basilica. A tour around the Mohamed Ali Street will lead you to the oldest district of the city, where you will have the chance to visit Hussein Bey Mosque (or Music Mosque) and the fortress.
Free time in the center of Kavala – you can visit the Acropolis and the Castle or to have a coffee at the seaside street or to try Retsina (special Greek white wine) in traditional fish restaurant at the port.

Visit to a really special place – Agia Lydia – in 49 AD, Apostle Paul through the Via Egnatia got from the port of Neapolis(Kavala) to Philippi, where he founded the first Christian church on European soil and baptized the first Christian, a woman named Lydia, right by the Gagitis river, where a famous baptistery and a modern church exist today and you will be able to visit on this tour.
Depart for Bulgaria. Visit to Melnik – the smallest town in Bulgaria (208 residents), nested in the south slopes of Pirin mountain, among sand pyramids with queer forms. It is a place where time stands still. Melnik is declared a natural and architectural reservation, and it attracts thousands of tourists annually. Stroll along the old narrow pavement streets and visit to the Kordopulov’s house with wine tasting The wine which is produced by the unique Bulgarian brand Wide Melnik Vine has a wonderful quality, scents of ripe cherry, herbs, and in the presence of an oak it develops nuances of tobacco and leather – the favorite wine of Winston Churchill.
In the late afternoon transfer back to Sofia and the tour will finish to your hotel.
