A full day in nature just above Sofia: the Golden Bridges stone river, Boyana Waterfall, Kamendel Peak and wide views over the city. Moderate hike with a guide, hotel pick-up included.
Spend a refreshing day on Vitosha, the mountain that rises right above Sofia. The hike starts at the Golden Bridges, the largest "stone river" on Vitosha. Here huge golden granite boulders flow down the slope like a frozen waterfall.
From there, well-marked forest paths lead to Momina Skala hut, a cozy spot for a short rest and a warm drink. The trail is moderate and offers viewpoints over the Sofia Valley.
Next, the path descends through shady woodland and rocky terrain to Boyana Waterfall, the largest waterfall on Vitosha. The last highlight is Kamendel Peak, one of the most scenic points of the central ridge. On clear days the panorama reaches the surrounding Bulgarian mountains.
