Two Bulgarian treasures in one day: a walking tour of ancient Plovdiv, then lunch and a walk in Koprivshtitsa, a 19th-century town preserved as a museum. Hotel pick-up and professional guide included.
After pick-up from your hotel at 08:00, you drive about 1.5 hours to Plovdiv. A short panoramic tour passes the Plovdiv International Fair and the Maritsa River.
Then you walk through the old town with your guide: the East Gate of ancient Philippopolis, Hisar Gate, the courtyard of the Ethnographic Museum, the Ancient Theatre, the Dzhumaya Mosque, the Roman Stadium, the main street and the Roman Forum.
In the afternoon you continue to Koprivshtitsa for lunch and a walking tour. This small town in a mountain valley keeps its 19th-century Revival houses, with original furniture, costumes, crafts and jewellery. You return to Sofia through the Bulgarian countryside.
